Rotation/Shifts

Rotation - Days, nights, weekends, 8 hours shifts

Basic Requirements

  • Postgraduate degree in Physics or a closely related discipline form a recognized university or equivalent;
  • Minimum of five (5) years previous experience as a Medical Physicist;
  • Active member in professional associations such as but not limited to: Canadian Organization of Medical Physicists;
  • Ability to obtain an academic appointment with University of Ottawa and/or Carleton University;
  • Established record of excellence in clinical, research and educational activities;
  • Experimental and theoretical physics skills;
  • Applied knowledge of radiation safety and patient dose optimization;
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical and problem- solving skills;
  • Superior organizational skills;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Eligible to work in Canada.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Medical Physics or directly related field;
  • Demonstrated computer skills including programming experience in software such as Visual Basic and MatLab;
  • Experience maintaining ACR MRI quality control program, including site planning for new MRI acquisitions, knowledge of MRI safety;
  • Experience with MRI sequence development, programming and protocol optimization;
  • Proficiency in English and French - oral expression (advanced level) and comprehension (advanced level).
